The Manager of Radiology provides leadership and direction for the day:to:day operational management of the ultrasound department. This includes maintaining and nurturing good rapport with medical staff and other UAMS employees and ensuring high quality diagnostic imaging services. Responsibilities include:Performs some aspects of human resource management, including recruitment and retention, analyzing staff mix and deploying staff, ensuring competency of staff through development and regular evaluation, and providing disciplinary counseling. Promotes and nurtures teambuilding and career growth to maximize productivity and job satisfaction. This includes willingness and ability to perform clinical work with direct reports when appropriate.Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing customer complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow:through. Monitors the operating budget; reviews and reports significant variances; works with coders to maximize reimbursement and assure appropriate billing practices; develops and promotes measures to stay within budget. Plans and organizes staff and facilities to meet customer needs. Provides leadership and training on all new technologies.Evaluates quality of images, procedures, and services.Ensures cost effective operations and value to the customer. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met including State, Federal, and Joint Commission requirements. Other duties and special projects as assigned by Administrative Director and/or Assistant Director Associates degree in Science : Radiography plus 5 years of experience as a working technologist is required. Applicant must be a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. The perfect candidate will have a BS in Radiography, Management or related field. Salary: Neg.
